Color picker application for OS X that automatically generates harmonious color palettes depending on pictures provided by the userChroma is designed to meet the needs of people that are not necessarily artistically inclined. Effortlessly generate color palettes that have a natural lookRight off the bat, Chroma prompts the user to provide an image that will be analyzed in order to get some color. The application is able to import a broad range of file formats, going from the most frequently used ones such as JPG or PNG to PSD or RAW image files.
Once the picture is loaded, Chroma will automatically generate a palette that comprises more than 50 different colors. Within the Chroma main window, you can either see the colors or the original image, together with codes for all the available colors.
Copy the color codes to your clipboard or export the entire paletteTo help you identify a specific color from the original image, Chroma also comes with a loupe tool that can help you select a particular pixel. The color will be set in the top area of the color list, and the code is copied to the clipboard automatically.
In fact, you get to send to the pasteboard the code for any of the colors included in the palette with a simple mouse click. Worth mentioning is that Chroma provides support for 16 different code formats, and you can choose one that meets your needs from a drop down menu.
However, Chroma also enables you to save the entire color palette to file formats that are compatible with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Freeway, or the Apple color picker tool.
